Galerie Zadra was an Australian specialist art dealer and advisory service. We assisted public and private collectors internationally to acquire contemporary and Australian Indigenous fine art of impeccable provenance.
We closed the gallery in June 2024. These pages remain as a record of our exhibition history.
Founders and directors: Karen and Dirk Zadra.
We have had artworks acquired by the British Museum, Stiftung Preussischer Kulturbesitz Berlin, National Gallery of Australia, National Museum of Australia, Australian War Memorial, Parliament House of Australia, National Gallery of Victoria, Art Gallery of South Australia, Queensland Art Gallery & Gallery of Modern Art, Art Gallery of Western Australia, Artbank, as well as Australian and American university museums.
Originally founded in 2001 by Graeme and Rosalyn Marshall as Marshall Arts in Adelaide, Australia, Karen and Dirk Zadra acquired the gallery at the beginning of 2013 and changed the name to Galerie Zadra in 2015.
Marshall Arts focussed exclusively on art from remote Indigenous owned and operated art centres, and was instrumental in helping to launch the careers of many of the early APY Lands artists. Marshall Arts was founded on the highest level of ethics and responsibility towards artists, and we continue to uphold those principles for every artist we represent.
Karen has been with the gallery since 2008, first as Gallery Manager, then as Director from January 2013 when she was joined by Dirk, who is in charge of financial operations. Karen broadened the representation of artists to include independent Indigenous artists working in city or regional areas, as well as other Australian and international artists.
